- This magazine advert clearly shows the genre of music with the colour scheme and font of writing.
- The genre of music is rock/ heavy metal.
- As you can see the magazine advert is a animation which is different from most other magazine adverts as we usually see the artist, but this connotes that the band is quite well known and shows an artistic side to it.
- The bold writing of 'Green Day' in white contrasts with the black background which is quite simple and the effect of the writing can be related with the picture of the hand and bomb as it gives it a 'rough' army image.
- The colloquial name of the album-'american idiot'- is quite informal as it has no capital letters shows that the band are quite 'laid' back and may be a 'rude' way of relating to themselves.
- The image highlights the colour red connoting danger which goes with the image of the bomb as the bomb is 'dangerous.'
- The image may be significant in many different ways one being that the person holding the bomb is the 'idiot' as we know what it may lead to.

- As you can see this magazine advertisement is showing a band because you can see all three band members.
- The colours and dress code seem to be dark going with the back ground colours.
- The close up shows that there is more of a connection between the artist and the audience
- The back drop shows the city, you can tell that it is an urban area in the UK because of the genre of music the band produce. It connotes what type of music is in the album too.

- Artist (Jay-Z) on the front of the magazine advert to promote album. With all the writing accept for the name of the magazine underneith so that no attention goes from the image.
- What is unusaul about this magazine advert is that that it is on the 'front' of the music magazine with a back page advertisment.
- The general colour scheme for the this maagzine advert is grey and red. The red can connote danger or that the album is 'hot' as in good.
- The artist stands out from the rest of the background as he is the only one wearing black showing imporatnce and how 'different' he is compared to others.
- The back setting is the backdrop of America, it's New York.
- The way Jay-Z is standing (posture) beind the sky scrapper buildings makes it seem more 3D.
- Both the backdrop of Nwe York and the artist's posture shows that he is in the cener of where 'real music' happens, the rhetorical question at bottom links with the image as it connotes that he is the 'king of hip hop'. The long shot plus low angle shot also also encourages this.
- Jay-Z name is in bold and red making sure that the audience can clearly link the text to the artist to show how 'big he is'.
- The list on the right hand side is pomoting the artist in written form as it's showing all that he has done.
- The back cover of the magazine is more like a poster as it is quite straight forward and simple just promoting the CD.
- The image may be the front of the CD cover.
- The image can connote a variety of things including such as the different types of music on his album
- The name of the album is at the bottom with when it is going to be released.

- The main image is a close up of the celebrity's face and she is making eye contact with audience to show theres a connection with the celebrity and the audience.
- Heavily done make up can be used as sex appeal.
- The colour scheme is quite bright. Most of the colours are 'electric' such as blue and purple, this connotes the different types of music on the album as well as modern music.
- There is a good effect on the main picture as her face is made up of lots of smaller pictures of herself.
- The gradual change in the pictures shows the artist when she was a young performer to how she is now, connoting how hwe image and music has changed but shes's the 'same' artist' and celebrating this.
- The quote '34 songs that changed the world'-links to the image as it shows the music videos to those 34 songs were linked to it shows Madonna as a ledgendary artist.
- There is a good effect on the writting at the bottom as the it looks like newspaper strips presnting the information.
- The recod label is on the top left corner so it dosen't draw attention away from the main picture.
- This magazine advertisment is quite straight forward as there is only a close up of the artisits face with big bold text in the background (name of magazine). The text is behind the artist to show how important the artisit is and also to show that the magazine is quite well known.
- The black and white theme gives a classy look going with the artist's general look and hair style.
- The posture of the artist is quite unusual as it seems like he is hiding from someone.
- The 'scanning bar code' is in the bottom right hand corner so that attention is from the main picture. These sorts of scanning bards usually work with Android phones or iPhones
- In general the advertisement is quite simple with no information about the album, concerts, etc information that you would expect to find on a magazine advertisement. This goes against the 'normal' conventions yo would expect to see, but the 'simplicity' connotes that the celebrity is so well known (popular to everyone) as well as the magazine that it doesn't need to be bombarded with information to show what it is selling.
