Question 1: What colour theme would you expect to see in a magazine advertisement for a Soul/RnB album?
Question 1 shows us that the 'colour theme' should be 'earthy colours'. This means that we will have to make sure that picture and font colour etc should have similar colours to those chosen by the audience. As 'elegant colours' came second with 4% we can combine some of the ideas too.
Question 2: What image would you aspect to see as the main focus in the magazine advertisement for Soul/RnB?
Question 2 shows us that 10/10 people suggested that the main focus should be the main focus, this shows that in terms of advertising, showing a picture/ or related picture to sell to the audience is 'very important.'
Question 3: Would you include reviews of the album in the magazine advertisement?
Question 3 shows us again, 10/10 people wanted a review on the album. This also shows that audience would be interested if there has been a positive comment of the product. The company that reviews it is also important as usually well known newspaper such as The Sun would review movies or albums etc. Although, from my research of magazine advertisement digi packs, I have seen that not many of them have review on the album. This may just be because they are already a well known artist worldwide.
Question 4: What font type would you want to see in the magazine advert for a Soul/RnB band?
Question 4 shows us 6/10 wanted 'elegant swirly' font for the title etc. I think the reason for this might be because they may associate this font type with Soul and RnB music. On the other hand, least voted was 'groovy/fancy' font and simple italics.
Question 5: What sort of camera shot would you like the picture to be in the magazine advert?
Question 5 shows us that 6/10 people think that a mid shot will be effective in showing the band. with close up and long shot being 1% each. This may be a good way to show the band altogether as well as their facial expressions and poses a bit more closer than if it was a long shot.
Question 6: Would you…
a.) Want a lot of information about the band/album on the magazine advertisement e.g. concert dates etc with little focus on the picture
b.) Have a little information about everything with the image being the main focus of the magazine advertisement
Question 6 shows us that the audience would like 'little' information on everything and the 'main' focus being 'the picture'. This means that we have to make sure that we add the relevant conventions needed on a magazine advertisement of an album such as record label, album name, date it will com out etc, but make sure it doesn't over shadow the main selling point; the picture.
The colour scheme that we think will be goo for the magazine advertisement and website is 'natural' colours such as browns, oranges, gold this goes with the 'earthy colour scheme' the audience suggested.
